Kamakhya Temple- According to this source, when King Daksa, the father of Parvati (Sati),instituted a great sacrifice, he sent invitation to all his daughters and the gods and sages,except his eldest daughter Parvati and Siva, his son-in-law, as he disliked them.

Tamresvari Temple- The Tamresvari temple commanded respect from a majority of people and counted amongst its votaries all the hill tribes in the vicinity, Ahoms and the Hindus of Assam.

The Hatimura Temple- The present Hatimura temple, at Silghat, in Nowgong district, was probably built on the ruins of an old stone ’temple in the Saka year 1667 (1745-46 A.D.) in the reign of King Pramatt Singh of the Ahom dynasty.
